The words we choose to say and write are some of the most important decisions in our everyday lives. Which words we use and the order in which we use them have consequences that can truly make or break us, and this is particularly true in the business world. Especially in our COVID-19-adapted society, the major increase in the usage of technology and decrease in person-to-person contact has resulted in written words, in addition to their accompanied visuals- via email, social media pages, text on their websites, and more- playing an even more crucial role in the success of a brand. Potential customers and business partners often make the decision whether or not to work with a particular company or individual based solely on what words they read and the visuals they see on their screens. Thus, the marketing strategy a brand uses to promote and market itself in various areas of our digital world is more important than ever.
I consider myself to be a true "Jackie of all Trades". I started my career as a virtual administrative and executive assistant, and have over 6 years of experience in that field. I also hold an Associate's in Political Science and have almost four years of experience as a legal assistant. However, three and a half years ago, I discovered my true calling as a writer, content creator/social media manager, marketing, communications, and public relations assistant, and brand strategist. I have a unique talent for combining my natural gifts as a writer and creative visual eye with marketing savvy to make engaging web and social media pages, captivating content including images and videos, and interesting, informative written pieces such as newsletters, blogs, and press releases. I am currently working on my Bachelor's from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with an area of concentration I designed entitled "Media, Marketing, and Communications in the Digital Age". I hold the HubSpot Content Marketing Certification and am currently working on several additional certifications and digital badges. Over these last few years, I have developed several of my own techniques which I utilize in my writing, marketing, and content creation, including a specific numeric ratio of written to visual content I refer to as my "Golden Ratio" and a technique represented in diagram form I incorporate into a brand's digital marketing strategy called "The Triangle of Content Marketing".
Through a combination of practical business, marketing, and public relations skills, my naturally creative visual eye, my way with words, and my "think outside the box" type of approach, I strategically create a plan of action for both B2B and B2C businesses that continue to engage and interest existing customers while attracting new leads from our target audience to make for an ever-growing following and improved business success. It is crucial for brand strategies to incorporate aspects of both the "here and now" - the short-term utilizing the technology and societal circumstances of today- as well as the "there and then"- the long-term, which will undoubtedly include new devices, platforms, and ways to digitally reach our target consumers, as well as taking into account what has worked in the past for a brand's success: What elements of your marketing/PR campaigns have worked well over the years, regardless of the changes in technology? How can these elements that were successful in the company's past be implemented into the present-day brand strategy? Many aspects of your plan of action will change with the advancement of the digital age, but the backbone of the story you tell to market your brand and engage that target audience will mostly remain the same- it's just the way in which it is told that will change. Additionally, my experience in the fields of communications, public relations, and more allow me to incorporate connections and partnerships with other companies, the press/ media (from journalists to blogs to local TV stations), social media influencers, and others to grow your brand in all directions. A truly successful company does not just aim to build a following with its target audience- it aims to build a following, and positive business relationships with, other companies, the press, social media influencers, and all areas of the marketing, PR, and business worlds. Maintaining positive relationships with all branches of the industry not only creates an excellent reputation that comes full circle but also introduces countless opportunities to both increase profit and grow as a brand.
Though I may not have taken the traditional route to entering this field, my real-world skills, natural talents, and freelance experience allow me to bring something very special and unique to the table. Contact me so we can discuss in greater detail how I will help you tell your brand's story and take your business to the next level in this everchanging digital age!
